Work out which shape you are working with

Pull your hair back, face a mirror in flat light, and compare four measurements: forehead width at its widest, cheekbone width, jaw width just below the ears, and total face length from hairline to chin. Oval: the length question, not the shape question

An oval face has no proportion to correct, so previews are about length rather than suitability. Generate a brow-length blunt fringe and a longer curtain version from the same photo. The blunt version will visually shorten the face; whether that reads as good is taste. Look at where the fringe lands relative to your eyebrows — a fringe that sits exactly on the brow line tends to look heavier in a render than it does in a mirror, because the render flattens the depth.

The upload decides the answer

Every tool here has to infer where your hairline sits before it can put a fringe in front of it.
